The Campo del Cielo meteorites come from a massive iron-nickel meteorite that fell in northern Argentina around 4,000 to 5,000 years ago. The impact created a series of craters spread across an area of about 60 square kilometers, with some of the largest fragments weighing over 30 tons. These meteorites are among the heaviest ever found and are prized by collectors and researchers for their historical and scientific significance.
